What's new in version 2.6

Version 2.6 builds on our earlier 2.5 release. We have refined our "virtual postroom" still further and added some great new features too.

As 2.5 was only an interim release we've grouped together the highlights of both versions.

• Mail documents as attachments * : Just like Finder, you can now email documents from within the DocMoto repository.

  One extra bonus being that we log the fact a file has been attached.

• Document Redlining ** : Users have always been able to visually compare files using Apple's Quick Look, but now Microsoft Office users can see the differences with our redlining support.

• Virtual post room: Our unique and powerful virtual post room feature allows you to create profiles to accurately import documents from scanners and other document creation software.

  Profiles can be distributed so the scanning function can be shared amongst users, or kept in the one place.

  All documents imported by a profile will be placed in the correct location with the correct tagging making them simple to retrieve.

• Create documents from templates: The document life cycle now starts right inside DocMoto with the introduction of document templates.

  This makes the user experience simpler, but also allows administrators to guarantee a corporate standard as all user's documents will start from the same templates.

• File monitoring and auto-return: User's no longer need to remember to return a document to the repository. Our file monitoring technology takes care of that for you.

• Unique file reference: Each document within the DocMoto repository is assigned a unique reference or index.

  The references are globally unique, so there is no possibility of two documents even in separate repositories ever having the same reference.

• Multiple tag values: Documents can now be tagged with multiple values for a given tag.

  This massively improves the power of the DocMoto tagging system.

• Extensible tag list: Tags not originally specified can now be added when a user adds a document into the repository.

• Improved large scale import: DocMoto now pre-processes files prior to importing (adding) them.

  This makes importing gigabytes of data much simpler.
