DocMoto v.2 software simplifies user experience for Mac business users

Businesses operating Apple Mac can now access one of the most sophisticated yet user-friendly file management systems with the latest software release from DocMoto.

Version two of DocMoto, the document and file manager created by UK company, CHL Software, has been developed as a result of six months’ customer testing and feedback and has been re-engineered to simplify the user experience and make it easier to search for files using an intelligent file tagging system.

The latest release has also streamlined DocMoto’s template manager, which gives users the option of automatically creating folders and sub-folders to ensure highly-organised and consistent file storage.

CHL Director, Neil Cameron, explains: “Six months of testing and talking to customers revealed that categorising and searching for files on Mac is a recurring problem for businesses. What they wanted more than anything was the ability for any of their staff to create a more uniform storage system along with a way of identifying files that would make them rapidly and accurately recoverable when required.

“To do this, we’ve added a full user interface to DocMoto’s tag management system, making it simpler to add categorisation tags to files. These tags can include dates and numbers to help refine the search criteria."

“And user-friendly improvements to the template manager have made it possible for anyone to automate the creation of common and sub-folder structures. This is important, for example, for lawyers needing a range of folders to collate documents belonging to the same case. It saves time while making sure that no users can deviate from the business’ established computer folder system.”

DocMoto - now more widely adopted by Mac-operating businesses in the professional services market, such as legal, accounting and healthcare firms – is being used to help companies comply with industry legislation such as the US Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Sarbanes-Oxley and ISO9000.

Cameron adds: “DocMoto version two is another step towards us providing the entirely “paperless office” to business Mac users, which will include intelligent paper scanning to create logical storage of scanned materials, correctly tagged for easy search and retrieval. And having the familiar look, feel and functionality of Mac’s own software, DocMoto is easily adopted by people familiar with the Mac environment."
